IM Energy Forum Records Management Masterclass

Tuesday 31st May 2011

Kippie Lodge

Records Management in the Energy Sector

The H1 Masterclass will have a Records Management theme. The intention is to relate management and utilisation of records to business activities and to learn about the practical side of RM. The day will be a mixture of talks followed by discussions and activities. Facilitators will be a mix of Records and Information professionals, consultants and academics.

The first session of the day is a public session, open to anyone interested in connecting with their peers and sharing ideas. The intent of this first session is that the drive for service improvement reaches as far as possible in the industry. This public session will be an introduction to our community and an overview of the goals for Information and Records Management that we all share. The rest of the day will be for IM Energy Forum members and external delegates. The day is split into four sessions. Two will be delivered by experts in the field of Records Management and will include breakout opportunities. They will cover the case for RM and disposal. The presenters are Heather Jack of HJBS Ltd, a consultant in Records Management, and Keith Fraser, Records Manager at the Robert Gordon University. The two other sessions have been designed as activity sessions exclusively within the Forum, in response to discussion at previous Forum events and Forum research findings. These activities will be on the Data-Document-Record lifespan and how to start improving the links between IM activities and the business.

As always, Forum members can send up to three delegates as part of their membership. If you are not a member and would like to attend the public session or the whole event, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
